Budget Follow Up

I was assigned this piece, but now with everything going on, it's becoming difficult to find time to pursue this story. Can anyone help out?

Re-read the President's Cabinet minutes...Trustees will be discussing 2008-2009 fees, tuition and course fees...in addition, is there any validity to the rumor that residential housing fees (and possibly meals) will be increasing? Let's NOT wait until the Trustees meet Feb. 20 and make decisions...good journalism is putting this discussion out there for everyone to read/react to BEFORE then. Dee Wigner is dean of administrative services ($$$), decisions about Budget/$$$ go through her office. That's not to say there aren't others involved, but she's the lead source. Find out what is being discussed and potentially proposed. Talk to instructors who are adjusting/assessing course fees. Talk to students who are paying to attend college...how might these changes/increases affect them and/or their families? How do these potential increases compare with colleges in our area that are similar in size??? No. 1 concern: WHY SHOULD READERS CARE??? Make sure you know that answer to this and are able to explain it in a way that they do!
